Yesterday, before a hearing on “Europe’s Threat to American Speech and Innovation,” TechFreedom sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee rebutting the FTC’s assertions that moderating U.S. content to comply with foreign laws is “unfair or deceptive.”
We also joined more than 30 EU and US scholars in a letter debunking claims that the Digital Services Act is a censorship law (it’s content neutral) and that it censors US speech (it applies only inside the EU).
The same scholars sent a letter to EU Commissioner Henna Virkkunen asking her to further implement the Commission’s commitment to the principle of content-neutrality in the DSA, and against extra-territorial effect. All three of these letters can be found below:
